The Evidence Base for an Ideal Care Pathway for Frail Multimorbid Elderly : Combined Scoping and Systematic Intervention Review
2019
Source at https://doi.org/10.2196/12517. Background: There is a call for bold and innovative action to transform the current care systems to meet the needs of an increasing population of frail multimorbid elderly. International health organizations propose complex transformations toward digitally supported (1) Person-centered, (2) Integrated, and (3) Proactive care (Digi-PIP care). However, uncertainty regarding both the design and effects of such care transformations remain. Previous reviews have found favorable but unstable impacts of each key element, but the maturity and synergies of the combination of elements are unexplored. Objective: This study aimed to describe how the literature o…
Meta-analysis of genome-wide association studies discovers multiple loci for chronic lymphocytic leukemia
2016
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a common lymphoid malignancy with strong heritability. To further understand the genetic susceptibility for CLL and identify common loci associated with risk, we conducted a meta-analysis of four genome-wide association studies (GWAS) composed of 3,100 cases and 7,667 controls with follow-up replication in 1,958 cases and 5,530 controls. Here we report three new loci at 3p24.1 (rs9880772, EOMES, P=2.55 × 10−11), 6p25.2 (rs73718779, SERPINB6, P=1.97 × 10−8) and 3q28 (rs9815073, LPP, P=3.62 × 10−8), as well as a new independent SNP at the known 2q13 locus (rs9308731, BCL2L11, P=1.00 × 10−11) in the combined analysis. We find suggestive evidence (P<5 × 10−…
Is sense of coherence a predictor of lifestyle changes in subjects at risk for type 2 diabetes?
2015
Objective: To determine whether the sense of coherence (SOC) could predict the outcome of an 18-month lifestyle intervention program for subjects at risk of type 2 diabetes. Methods: Subjects at high risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus were recruited to a low-intensity lifestyle intervention program by their general practitioners. Weight reduction ≥5% and improvement in exercise capacity of ≥10% from baseline to follow-up indicated a clinically significant lifestyle change. SOC was measured using the 13-item SOC questionnaire. Results: The study involved 213 subjects with a mean body mass index of 37 (SD ± 6). Complete follow-up data were obtained for 131 (62%). Twenty-six participants had cli…
Self-care and anticipated transition into retirement and later life in a Nordic welfare context
2011

However, this predictable-involuntary transition may influence personal health and well-being, and studying it from a self-care perspective could be useful. The aim of this study was to illuminat…
Narrated lived experiences of self-care and health among rural-living older persons with a strong sense of coherence.
2012
Ulrika Söderhamn, Bjørg Dale, Olle SöderhamnFaculty of Health and Sport Sciences, University of Agder, Centre for Caring Research – Southern Norway, Grimstad, NorwayAbstract: Sense of coherence (SOC), with its components comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness, is a major factor in the ability to cope successfully with stressors and is closely related to health. Qualitative studies related to SOC are scarce, and in this phenomenological interview study, self-care is investigated in relation to SOC. The aim of this study was to describe the lived experiences of self-care and features that may influence health and self-care among older home-…
2011
Author's version of an article in the journal: Tidsskrift for psykisk helsearbeid. Also available from the publisher at: http://www.idunn.no/ts/tph/2011/01/art01 Denne artikkelen er en undersøkelse av Tidsskrift for psykisk helsearbeid i perioden 2004-2010. Critical Reflections - i…
Mobilteknologi til videokommunikasjon ved trygghetsalarmer
2007
Prosjektet h…
Associations between parental rules, style of communication and children's screen time
2015
Background Research suggests an inverse association between parental rules and screen time in pre-adolescents, and that parents’ style of communication with their children is related to the children’s time spent watching TV. The aims of this study were to examine associations of parental rules and parental style of communication with children’s screen time and perceived excessive screen time in five European countries. Methods UP4FUN was a multi-centre, cluster randomised controlled trial with pre- and post-test measurements in each of five countries; Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary and Norway. Questionnaires were completed by the children at school and the parent questionnaire was brough…
